Clinical Teaching
Clinical Teaching: The purpose of this content area is to assist Fellows in learning and improving their skills on how to instruct learners on a one-to-one basis in a clinical setting, to assist in the development of skills to provide feedback and evaluation, and to familiarize them with the developmental nature of professional identity. The instruction in this area is provided through in-class presentations and by supervised practice teaching at their home Family Medicine Residency Program Clinic. Supervisors provide critique and discussion of teaching encounters. The specific skills addressed in this area are: critically reviewing personal clinical teaching skills assessing personal clinical teaching skills applying the skill of clinical teahing with residents and students teaching others the skills of clinical teaching
